Stage 3 Baby Food Recipe

Stage 3 baby food is for babies who are starting to eat solid foods. This stage lasts from about 6 months to 12 months old. At this stage, your baby will be eating pureed foods and soft table foods. It’s important to give your baby a variety of foods to help them grow and develop. You can start by giving them pureed fruits and vegetables. As they get older, you can give them soft table foods like pieces of cooked meat, pasta, and bread.

This stage of food for babies progressed about 9 months and over includes thicker mashed foods and purees with a lot of texture. The foods are still veritably soft, but they’re moving towards table foods and may include some cutlet foods. There will generally be bits of food for the baby to bite and may include some foods that the baby can pick up with her fritters. 

These early cutlet foods include foods similar as soft avocado, veritably soft climbed eggs, mashed meatballs, grains including rice and rolled oats, slightly mashed snorts. 


For this age group, you can make baby food just for them — including thicker, more textured Baby Food Combinations — and also start to include further foods from your family reflections if you haven’t been doing that formerly. The thing in this stage is to continue to expose the baby to a range of flavors and textures so she continues to have lots of openings to learn and develop her capability to eat.

What periods is Stage 3 baby food for? 

Generally it’s for babies about 9 months and over, however there may be some normal variation in that age grounded on the baby’s progression through literacy to eat solids. Before this one, is Stage 2 which incorporates Baby Food Combinations. 

What are some Stage 3 foods for babies? 

Some exemplifications include veritably soft risotto, soft oatmeal, pastina in a sauce or a bitsy quantum of broth, mashed meatballs, finely tattered and veritably soft beef or funk, veritably soft climbed eggs, and baby food purees that are thick and have soft gobbets. 

What is the difference between Stage 2 and Stage 3 baby food? 

The main difference is that Stage 3 is thicker and has further texture than stage 2. It may have greater complicated flavors (even though Stage 2 has to consist of a whole lot of flavors too!). Stage 3 may also include veritably soft cutlet foods. 

 Are cutlet foods considered Stage 3? 

 Soft bones can be! You want them to be veritably easy to squish between two fritters to ensure that they’re easy for the baby to bite and move around in her mouth. Aim to include a range of textures and flavors so the baby has a wide variety of food gests. It’s normal for some babies to like certain textures more than others, but do your best to continue offering all foods (they may just need further practice) and ensure that the meals you provide are simple to eat. 

You can let babies feed themselves with their hands, offer preloaded ladles ( see the image over), mouthfuls of food on a ladle, or a combination of the styles. With any of them, allow the baby to decide when the mess is done, so end it when she turns her head, signs “ each done” or gives another signal that the mess is over. 

Follow baby’s cues for hunger and wholeness

Remember that there’s a natural range among babies as far as how into food they are. Yours may be more or less into it, and that can be normal. 

Babies continue to calculate on breastmilk and formula for their main nutritive requirements until age 1, though solids traditionally come more and more important — and are demanded for nutrients including iron. At this stage, it’s normal for a baby to be eating 1-2 reflections. You can increase or drop according to the baby’s interest and hunger for solids, and also for your schedule. (Aim for 3 reflections by the first birthday.)

  •  PREP TIME: 10 mins 
  •  Chef TIME: 10 mins 
  •  TOTAL TIME: 20 mins 
  •  COURSE: Baby Food 
  •  Cookery: American 
  •  CALORIES: 67 kcal 
  •  Constituents:1x 2x 3x 
  •  Grain or Meat ( choose 1) 

1/4 mug completely cooked brown rice, quinoa, bulgur, buckwheat, pastina, couscous, or any other grain you like ( cook according to package directions); OR cooked ground beef, lemon, or funk; OR mashed meatballs or tattered funk or beef 

Sauce or Puree ( choose 1) 

2 soup spoons-¼ mug Marinara Sauce, Sweet Potato Puree, Pea Puree, Pureed Red Lentil Soup, or any other baby food puree you like 


Prepare your grain or meat, making sure they’re cooked through and soft. 

Choose your sauce or puree:

  • Add both to a medium coliseum and stir together. Serve warm with a preloaded ladle or as a ( kindly messy) cutlet food. 
  •  Store any leaves in the fridge for over 3 days or indurate for unborn weeks. 


You can really use any soft grain or cooked meat you like using this system, it’s veritably protein! Trust the baby’s hunger and end the mess when they fuss, throw food, turn their head down, or give another signal that they’re no longer empty.
